Tropical Storm Day Thoughts

 Hello all! It's been a few weeks since my last post, and honestly can you blame me. So far this school year, I have subbed 28 out of our 50 days. Every morning is a new adventure as I find out what new subject I will teaching and how to still teach my one ELA class at the end of the day without losing my ever loving mind. I think I am just managing to do that, but even with my mask on my kids can still tell when my day has been a little rough and ask me if I subbed for a certain teacher again. I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing yet.  Report cards went home yesterday, which means we are officially done with the first quarter of school. It feels like we should already be done with the first semester though. So let's catch you up! The year has gone for the most part without a hitch. Pre-Plan Week!

 Hello again,  For those that may not know, teachers normally get the week before school starts to prepare their classroom and go to an endless amount of meetings that could have been emails. This year, because so many schools are starting late and are giving up professional development days, we had two single days of professional development and then this past Tuesday through Friday to work in our rooms and go to school site meetings. It was the most time I have ever had in my to prepare a room. This could possibly because I couldn't decorate like I normally would because there are three other teachers in my room and we all focus on separate things, but I'm calling this a win!  Even though I had a great deal of time, my room isn't completely finished yet. Schools are used to having a surplus of desks from one school to another. Hello and Welcome to the 2020-21 School Year

Hello everyone, and welcome to the start of our new chapter! I'm your host Ms. ELA! I teach ELA at a middle school in Florida. My goal this school year to record the happenings, both good and bad, because this is something that none of us expected to happen. There was no way to prepare for such a event, and there is no way of knowing if what we decide will actually work. Before we move on let's review what has happened so far. I'll be honest, when we went on lock-down in March none of us thought it would be for forever. My school's directions to shut down came right at the start of spring break so I can't lie, I was excited for the little bit of an extra break. Then we got the call that we wouldn't be returning and that we had a day to come in and get our computers and personal belongs and get out.
